about

I wanted to find a way to be productive during the COVID-19 pandemic. Being locked up in my room for so long I was left with nothing but time to think and reflect on my life experiences up to this point. Whether it was love, heartbreak, success, failure, loneliness, or fear, I wanted to address these topics in the best way I knew how which is through my music. So I gave myself fourteen days, exactly, to process my emotions and articulate them into a musical conversation, writing songs that had never been thought of prior to this experiment. Transition is a reflection of these thoughts, feelings, and much more. With songs like “Say Your Goodbyes” referring to my disappointment of having the final semester of my undergraduate years taken away from me, “Secluded” addressing the feelings of betrayal and heartbreak from past relationships and friendships, “It’ll Be Alright” serving as a reminder that no matter what my circumstances may be, God is still in control and making things work out for my good, and “Transition” emphasizing the point of becoming the best version of myself by embracing my truth and living it out loud, this album is a clear representation of my experiences and how they have impacted my life, helping to shape me into who I am today. Of course, this could not be possible without the help of my friends who are phenomenal musicians that contributed to the vision. So with that, I would like to thank everyone who had a hand in making this project complete, from the musicians, to sound engineers, mentors, family members, and everyone else who has supported me through this process, including YOU reading these words now. I am excited to share a piece of my life with you and I hope the messages within the music can help you the same way they helped me in my darkest moments. This is Transition, and I hope you enjoy!
